To wake up to find your face is broken. This isn\u2019t the first time it\u2019s happened to me, and I\u2019ll get into that later. But for now, let\u2019s just say that I have what they call Bells Palsy. In most cases it\u2019s temporary. Some heal in a few days, some healing takes a year. And then it may not be healed 100%.<\/p>\n<p>Bells Palsy is brought on by an infection near the ear. Some blame it\u00a0solely\u00a0on stress. I think it\u2019s a bit of both. I\u2019ve owned and run a small business for 20 years, so stress is normal for me. I get anxious about specific events that are especially stressful and some that I shouldn\u2019t worry about at all. I\u2019m not surprised that this has happened to me. I\u2019m a bit disappointed \u2013 that I let stress affect me physically.<\/p>\n<p>Half of my face is paralyzed. I don\u2019t know how long it will last this time. It\u2019s difficult to talk, to eat and to sip. I\u2019ve always been a patient person. I suppose it\u2019ll come in handy, yet again.<\/p>\n<p>I plan to document my trials and tribulations with Bells Palsy. I don\u2019t know if it will help anyone else that wakes up with it, but it\u2019ll help me, I think.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>What a scary thing.
