Monitor the ad companies when you browse

Ghostery has received quite a bit of press lately, so I decided to check it out. It’s a free download at www.ghostery.com. The plug-in is available for several browsers. I use the latest Internet Explorer 9, so I had to turn on my command bar to see the ghostery icon and enable it.

Now, when I go to a website, it tells me with a popup bubble in the upper right, which ad companies are tracking you. And you can block them!

This all came about because of the enourmous (and often fallible) amount of info the ad companies are collecting about us – the Internet user.

Check it out! Also, let me know if you’ve found other tools.
